Soon, this will all pass in front of us,
In clouds of dust and,
You can tear up pictures,
But I could never wipe myself from negatives,
This winter’s been too long.
I’ve been afraid of sunlight,
For far longer than I’m willing to admit.
I’ve been a little bit of lonely
And a lot of something I cannot define.
This time it’s old.
Know this won’t open any doors.
But maybe a window, I need a place to get composed.
I know a way out of this house.
It may sound crazy, I know a quiet place to be alone.
When everybody’s yelling,
You’re just hoping that your voice will not be heard.
It’s like whispering in a choir,
We’re just hoping that someday we can return.
To that place I’ve been to,
I know it’s not much,
But we’ve got something.
So I’m not scared of what the future brings.
I’m sitting here in silence.
It’s far darker than it ever was before.
I need a flame to cast my shadow,
Make me feel like I’m not really that alone.
This feeling’s old.
